It has been weeks since the first day we started this course, and we personally think having a blog where we can submit our assignments and side tasks is a good idea. We find our blog as an efficient tool to share our research work and assignment information between the group members. We don't have to be at the same place, at the same time to access our assignments. It is an excellent way of sharing knowledge and information within the group members and with the lecturer too as it only took a few seconds for the lecturer to check on our assignments. We also agree that submitting works online helps a lot. It saves times to go to printing shop and line up to get your turn to print, and of course, we get to save money too.
We do have a few shortcomings. Most of the group members are not familiar with blog, they never have a personal blog before so at the beginning, it was confusing for them to handle the blog. But they learned how to manage a blog from time to time, and Alhamdulillah, we finally succeed in creating this blog.
We choose 'LITERARY GENRES II : INTRODUCTION TO DRAMA' (ENGL 1525) to be the theme of our blog because we can always relate the plays to real life issues. 'Doctor Faustus' is the play we chose to be our theme because it has many moral values that we can relate to our religion can be learned from the play. One of the most apparent themes in Doctor Faustus is the battle between good and evil. At the beginning of the play, Faustus finds himself torn between good and evil, knowing the distinction and consequences of the two, but overwhelmed by his desire for worldly pleasures. He is a scholar, but he let the worldly pleasures to take over his judgment. There are also other themes that we can relate to Islam like the important of knowledge and good deeds.
