Assignment 3 : Reflection

Throughout this assignment, we are now having the ideas on what language can do other than functioning only as a tool of communication. As we did some study on the field of forensic linguistics, we found that language is seen as one of tools in crime solving.

In finishing this assignment, we face difficulty in answering some questions for instance the application of forensic linguistics to language research. But, as we sit and discuss together, we have succeed to find the answer for that particular question. We also face difficulty in providing information about forensic linguistics in Malaysia. It is due to the small number of cases that involves linguistics evidence at the first place in crime solving.

By doing this assignment, we found that the study of corpus linguistics is important because it is interconnected with other fields of study such as forensic linguistics. We also found that forensic linguistics is an interesting profession for students of linguistics.
